Van Gogh prints in this collection
Our Van Gogh prints cover five paintings. One of them also comes as a panoramic print, so the collection has six prints in all. The paintings span most of his short career, from about 1883 to 1889. Each is in the public domain and printed to order. All our Vincent van Gogh prints are listed below.
About Vincent van Gogh
Vincent van Gogh was born in 1853 in Groot-Zundert, in the south of the Netherlands. He worked for an art dealer, then as a teacher and preacher. He turned to art around 1880. His brother Theo, an art dealer in Paris, supported him from then on. Their letters are a main source for his life and work.
His early Dutch pictures are dark and earthy. In Paris, from 1886 to 1888, he met the Impressionists and his colors grew bright. In 1888 he moved to Arles in the south of France. He then spent a year at the asylum in Saint-Rémy. He died at Auvers-sur-Oise in 1890.
Van Gogh belongs to Post-Impressionism. He used thick paint, strong outlines and bold color to show feeling as well as what he saw.
The six prints
- The Bedroom (1889): his room in the Yellow House in Arles. He painted it three times, and this is an 1889 version.
- Flower Beds in Holland (c. 1883): rows of flowers in front of a farmhouse, from his early Dutch years.
- Factories at Clichy (1887): smoking chimneys beyond yellow fields at the edge of Paris.
- Factories at Clichy (1887), panoramic: the same painting as a long print.
- Self-Portrait (1887): one of the many self-portraits he painted in Paris.
- Green Field (1889): a green wheat field with a cypress and a farmhouse, from his time in the south.

Where Van Gogh wall art fits in a home
Van Gogh wall art brings strong color to a room, so give each print some space. The Bedroom suits a bedroom or guest room. The fields and flower beds fit a kitchen, hallway or office. The self-portrait works in a study or beside a bookcase.
For painters of the same years, see Claude Monet Prints and Impressionist Art Prints. For more fields and farms, see Vintage Landscape Paintings. The Bedroom also sits with interiors and objects in Vintage Still Life Paintings.
